Reviews : Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch Retina

Style
Brilliant screen is the Retina. Higher than 1080 p HD screen. two Thunderbolt 2 port. HDMI. Nearly nine hours of battery life. Intel Graphics Pro Slices do such a discrete GPU. 16 GB of system memory standard. Comes with iLife and iWork software suite.

CONS
Glossy screen; There is a choice of matte. Ethernet requires an adapter. Older applications can see yellow.

THE BOTTOM LINE
The latest 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro is a slight upgrade to the best phone system for the Power Mac users can buy. And while the competition is breathing down the neck of the allusion to Windows, it's still the main choice for high-end desktop replacement laptops.

Mac power users, including the art director, film editor, photographer, videographer, and the like, waiting for each new release of the top-of-the-line Apple MacBook Pro with bated breath. The first question is always, "the new MacBook Pro is better than last year's model?" In this case, we will say yes, but only in 16 GB of memory standard, up from the current 8 GB. Sure, the Core i7 processor is a few hundred megahertz faster, but it's actually not translated into measurable performance faster overall. That said, the latest 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display ($ 1,999) is still a laptop power users who are very good at it, the true object of lust, who was awarded our Editors ' nod for high-end desktop replacement laptops.

Design and features
Design of the 15-inch MacBook Pro models are unchanged from last year's $ 1 869.00, at Amazon, sporting the same by approximately 0.71 with 14.25 with 9.75 inches (HWD) aluminium chassis. Same weight in lbs 4,36, though the last iteration of the perceptible. Torn bodies on the side of helping fill gaps in air to cool the internal components, and in the same place. The connection continues to be very good, to calculate the port HDMI system, headset jack, card reader SDXC, Thunderbolt, two port and two USB 3.0 ports (one on each side). The only thing missing is that business users want is an Ethernet port. One can be added with a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter for $ 29. Built-in 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.0 closing wireless connectivity. The 802.11 Protocol air conditioning a rarity on a Windows laptop, although more high-end systems such as the Dell XPS 13 Touch $ 1,199.99 at Dell, Dell Precision M2800 $ 1, 740.30 on Dell and HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 (G4U67UT) $ 1, 689.98 at Amazon support faster wireless standard.

The 15.6 inch IPS display has an 1,800-2,800-by resolution, higher than 2560-by-1,440 in options ultrabook high-end Editors ', Toshiba 13th Kirabook i7s Touch $ 699.99 at 1, Toshiba, but lower than the 4 k 3, 840 UHD-by-2,160 screens on Toshiba Satellite P50T-BST2N01 $ 649.99 at 1, Toshiba. OS X screen scales automatically Mavericks so everything is fresh, as long as you use the application has been updated to display the Retina. For example, 1080 p and 720 p HD YouTube video play back full resolution in Safari and Chrome without having to look the video to full screen. On the screen elements, such as menu bar and window, automatic scale to virtual 1,440-by-900 resolution for the purpose of positioning, although pictures and videos in this window appear at full resolution. The text is scaled so that it looks very smooth on screen is the Retina. Contrast this with 13 Touch Kirabook i7s and satellite P50T-BST2N01, where you may have to adjust the scale if the menu text repeatedly looks too small or if the image does not look right.

This is not always admirable on a Mac, however. If you are using an old version of a program (such as Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, for example), the text and images may not be the right scale and there will be a corresponding reduction in quality. The only nit can be avoided is that the system still does not have a matte screen option for people who can't stand the shiny glass.

The $ 1,999 model basis from the 15-inch MacBook Pro comes with 16 GB of system memory and a 256 GB flash Storage module (similar to other SSD on the notebook). System memory is not expandable Flash Storage, but technically upgraded. We say technically because you will have to source PCIe compatible Flash Storage module and purchase the special screwdriver pentalobe P5 to handle special screw on the cap bottom of laptop. In the end, it's not stated upgradeable, but again not the most notebook and ultrabooks today. In addition to OS X 10.9 Mavericks, 15-inch MacBook Pro comes loaded with Keynote, Numbers, and Pages (iWork), and GarageBand, iMovie, iBooks, iTunes, and iPhoto (iLife). With iWork, you should be able to manage basic business school and work without having to buy Microsoft Office. If you discount the free solutions such as Google Docs, it gives the MacBook Pro laptop on Windows, which only came with a trial version of Office. This system comes with a one year warranty with 90 days phone support.

Achievements
the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro Retina The $ 1,999 model base we tested comes with an Intel Core i7-4770HQ with Intel integrated Iris Pro 5200 graphics. Add the performance of 16 GB of memory and fast PCIe-based Flash Storage, and you will likely not want to power. Score excellent multimedia: 1 minutes, 17 seconds on the Handbrake Video tests (which fits Dell Precision M2800 workstation in the lead of this group), and 03: 25 on tests Adobe Photoshop CS6, five seconds faster than second-place Toshiba Satellite P50T-BST2N01.

IRIS Pro Intel graphics is on board, and it was basically a high-performance version of the Intel HD Graphics. The performance has increased to the point that Apple chose to use Iris Pro graphics on the models essentially middle-level discrete graphics not found in the older iteration of the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Laptops draw some of the fastest frame rate on our 3D gaming test (22 fps, Paradise Valley 23 fps) at high quality settings. It is at least 10 fps is higher than other Windows laptop with Intel integrated graphics. Only systems with discrete graphics workstations like the Precision satellite P50T and M2800-BST2N01 have a faster 3D performance. If you need a boost, version $ 2499 from 15-inch MacBook Pro comes with an Nvidia GeForce graphics GT 750 and Core i7 processor speed.

The latest models are up 33 minutes on our battery rundown test over the previous iteration (8: 55 pm vs 8: 22). However, competitive systems such as the Dell XPS 13 Touch (9: 31) and Samsung Edition Ativ Book 9 2014 $ 1, 299.00 on Amazon (11: 26) lasts longer. In addition, Acer Aspire S7-392-5410 and Toshiba Kirabook 13 i7s Touch good passing mark of 8 hours on the same test. This shows that competition is the Windows start muscle in the former dominance of Apple in battery life.

Basically, the new 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro is a very incremental upgrades to the model released late last year, and if you already have a model 2013, does not need to move. Apple MacBook Pro 13-Inch, Retina is still our recommendations if you are willing to trade screen size for portability. That said, if you're a Mac power user upgrades from pre-Retina-Display MacBook Pro (or the MacBook Air), this laptop is certainly feasible. This deserves our highest recommendation and selection of editors ' badge for the best high-end desktop replacement laptops.

Reviews : Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)
Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)

Style
Like other 2-in-1 design, Radius 11 Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302) offers laptop and tablet functionality. Instead of docking a detachable tablet, laptop hinges allow the screen to be folded back into another position. The mode includes a Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop (folded flat), presentation (buffer such as tents), and viewers (touch screen is shown with the keyboard folded back as a base). Lenovo was there first with a dual-hinge design, as seen on Lenovo Yoga 2 8 € 507,00 at Amazon, but we have also seen the HP Pavilion n000-11T x 360 $ 379,99 in HP and Dell XPS 11 $ 1, 329.99 at Dell doing their best interpretation, so that category many.

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)
For storage of Radius 11 offers a 500 GB hard drive, such as Lenovo Yoga 2 11 and HP Pavilion n000-11T X 360,
but it's much larger than 64 GB solid-state drive (SSD) which is offered in tablets such as the Acer Aspire Switch 10 and Asus Transformer Book T100TA. With so much storage space, Toshiba does not hold on the software that has been installed. There are 30-day trial of McAfee Secure Life 2014 and Microsoft Office 365. There is also a free service, such as Adobe Reader, Google Drive, Amazon Kindle reader and others. Then there is the retail applications (Amazon, Ebay), entertainment applications (Netflix, Hulu Plus, Spotify, iHeart Radio),
and samples from about a dozen games from WildTangent. Toshiba also throws in some applications, such as branded App Place, BookPlace, Media Player by Truelink sMedio +, and more utilities for system restore, password management, and power management. Toshiba includes a Radius of 11 with 1 year warranty.

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)
Performance
Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302) The Satellite Radius 11 is equipped with an Intel Celeron N2840 and RAM 4 GB. This is quite similar to Acer Aspire E3-111-C1BW $ 403,79 on Amazon, which also offers Celeron CPU and 4 GB memory, and like that system, The Satellite RADIUS 11 not wow me with its performance during testing. It's functional, but it feels slow, even when doing tasks that are very basic, like opening a new browser tab. This is going to do things as simple as typing a letter or check their email and Facebook, but most of the other tasks will be laggy.

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)

in the PCMark 8, Radius 11 Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302)
Print 1.627 points, winning the second of the Acer laptop E3-111-C1BW (1,605 points) and Acer removable 10-Switch hybrid tablet (1.576 points).
In Photoshop, a Radius of 11 is actually faster (13 minutes 34 seconds) of the Acer Aspire E3-111-C1BW (15: 04), HP Pavilion n000-11T x 360 (15: 59),
and Lenovo Yoga 2 11 (16: 08), but it's the contrast between slow and slower. Dell XPS 11 had the best time with a wide margin in Photoshop (6: 50),
Thanks to the Intel Core i5 processor is significantly more powerful.

Battery life is actually rather short in a Radius of 11, which lasted 5 hours 17 minutes on our battery rundown test. Acer T100TA more than double it (11: 20), but even among systems that are more similar, as Lenovo Yoga 2 11 (06: 53), HP Pavilion n000-11T x 360 (5: 40), and Dell XPS 11 (5: 55) Radius 11 lingers in the back of the crowd.

Conclusion
See performance, Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L15W-B1302) wasn't too impressive, but still may be the best of the entry-level hybrid conversion-system we have seen.
This necessarily leads the crowd grow convertible dual-hinge, despite Editors ' Choice Book T100TA Asus Transformer, offers a better overall package, especially in terms of battery life.
At this price point, however, I am very likely to recommend Chromebook Windows system over the majority's budget-friendly, as Chrome OS offers better performance when paired with a low-power processor.
Top us for Wi-Fi-only Chromebooks is Editors ' Choice C720P -2600 Chromebook Acer, which offers design and a sleek touch screen, but for those who want a convertible design, there is also a very

Review Lenovo Yoga 3 PRO

Lenovo Yoga 3 PRO

STYLE
Very thin, fanless design. All-day battery life. Better than 1, 080p screen looks very good.
New Watchband-style looks great and offers better support for touch. The new 180-degree option adds use of multimode.

Review Yoga 3 PRO
PERFORMANCE
Core performance M CPU can not correspond to standard Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
The keyboard is very superficial. Micro HDMI port requires adapter to be used with the HDMI standard.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is a laptop convertible-premium hybrid that revamps the Yoga line is familiar with the new design hinges, Intel Core processor M efficient, and new super thin chassis.

Lenovo essentially define the categories 2-in-1 with his Yoga line.
Check out the only convertible laptop-hybrid out of competing companies such as Dell, HP, and Toshiba, which all use some variation on the design of multimode basis was introduced with the first laptop Yoga back in 2012.
Now, with Yoga 3 Pro ($ 1, 299.99), Lenovo has come out with a new design that completely revamps multimode hinges, swap out to hyper-efficient processor Core Intel CPU M, and package it all in a very thin, very fancy new chassis.
This is a step forward in 2-in-1 design, and is it worth the price of high-end, Yoga Pro 3 makes $ 1, 299.99 in our Editor's choice for Lenovo's high-end laptop convertible-hybrid.
